Who is Associate Professor David Hastie?
The Director of Renew Education, Associate Professor David Hastie, is currently Senior Research Fellow, The King's School Institute, The King's School Parramatta. He was previously Deputy Vice President, Alphacrucis University College. He is Adjunct Associate Professor at Charles Sturt University, Honorary Associate Professor at Alphacrucis University College, an academic historian, educationalist and accomplished writer in the mass and industry media. In 2021 he was invited to be one of 5 revisors of the Australian History and Civics Curriculum, at the invitation of the Commonwealth Department of Education, the Federal Education Minister, and the Australian Curriculum, Reporting and Assessment Authority (ACARA).
Originally trained as a historian at the University of Sydney and Macquarie University, David taught and led in schools for 18 years prior to transferring to head offices, and then into the academic sector.
